David Elder
Mr. Elder is a shareholder in the Miami Law firm Elder & Lewis, P.A. He has lectured throughout the state of Florida in connection with construction issues. Many of his lectures have served as credits for Florida Contractors seeking to satisfy mandatory licenses in the state of Florida. The lectures have also served as credits for lawyers satisfying the continuing legal education requirements for the Florida Bar. Mr. Elder has dedicated his more than 35 years of practicing law to advancing the rights of contractors in connection with construction disputes, ranging for performance issues, to contested change orders, to extended general conditions, to bond and lien claims. He has tried construction cases in State and Federal Courts and before multiple arbitration panels.
He has been named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine in construction law and is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Elder is admitted to practice law in the trial and appellate courts of the State of Florida, as well as admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Souther District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th district. Additionally, Mr. Elder is certified to practice in the United States Court of Claims based in Washington, D.C., where construction contract disputes with the United States of America are heard. Mr. Elder received his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami.
